Principal's Message

Hello Thacher families!

Next week is shaping up to be a busy and fun one, starting with Fall Spirit Week! Check out the flyer below for details on each day's theme so your child can join in the fun.

It's also the week our PTO's biggest fundraiser of the year, Boosterthon, kicks off! Boosterthon is a high-energy event for our students, and it helps fund so many of the experiences and resources our school community enjoys throughout the year. Please be sure to check your email for Boosterthon updates throughout the week so you have all the details you need.

I'm also sad to miss our inaugural Trunk or Treat on Saturday, but I can't wait to see the photos! It's shaping up to be a perfect day, and we have a TON of people signed up to host trunks. Thank you to everyone who is helping make this new tradition possible.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our students, our staff, and our PTO. We're looking forward to a great week!

Warmly,
Frank Rich
Principal

This Week in Physical Education

We have had a great start to the school year in the gym, and I am excited to share some of the activities and skills your children will be working on throughout the year. My goal is to help every student stay active, build confidence, develop new skills, and most importantly, have fun while learning!

This week, we KICKED off our soccer unit. Students will be developing their soccer skills through fun activities, partner challenges, and small-sided games. Throughout the unit, students will focus on: dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork.

One of the most important things we learn in PE is that success looks different for everyone. Whether a student is learning a new skill, improving a personal best score, helping a teammate, or simply gaining the confidence to try something new, every step forward matters.

I look forward to a fantastic year of learning, growing, and moving together at Thacher!
If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out at any time!

Hello Thacher & ELC Families,

We know this is a busy time of year, with full calendars and lots happening! The PTO has several opportunities coming up between now and the new year, and we hope you’ll participate at whatever level feels comfortable for your family. Whether you attend an event, volunteer, support a fundraiser, or help spread the word, we appreciate you!

If you were with us last spring, you may remember that we held our Fun Run in May. We’ve decided to move the run to the fall so we can better plan and allocate our budget throughout the school year. There will not be another Fun Run fundraiser this spring. We’ll continue offering restaurant nights throughout the year and community events at little to no cost whenever possible.

Here’s what’s coming up:
Trunk or Treat — October 24, 4–6 p.m.: This event is free to attend! We hope you’ll join us for a fun evening with our school community. We’re accepting candy donations to help our trunk hosts prepare.

Fun Run — Kickoff October 28: We’re looking for volunteers to help make our biggest fundraiser of the year a success! Sign up by Friday, October 16, to volunteer and receive a Fun Run shirt.

Thanksgiving Pie & Charcuterie Sales: Let us take a little work off your Thanksgiving to-do list! We’ll be offering pies and charcuterie boards so you can enjoy something delicious while supporting our school.

Holiday Mini Photo Sessions: These were a favorite with families last year, and we’re excited to bring them back!

Pea Poddery Event — December 3: Join us for a fun pottery painting event at school! Items must be preordered, and order forms will be coming home soon.

Please keep an eye on our social media for order links, volunteer opportunities, deadlines, and event details.

Lastly, it's time for our annual Boosterthon Fun Run! We have moved our largest, and most fun fundraiser to the fall this year. We will not be doing another run/fundraiser in the spring. You can sign up your student for our Thacher and ELC Panda Pride Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $30,000 for field trips and enrichment. Signing up is easy!
