Dear Fine Families,
It was another exciting week at Hyman Fine, filled with creativity, collaboration, and memorable experiences for our students! Can you believe we are headed into our last month of school?
Looking ahead, next week our students will participate in our annual One Book, One School initiative. This year's featured book is Rosie Revere, Engineer. Throughout the week, students will engage in discussions and activities connected to the story and will participate in a culminating engineering challenge during their Library Media classes. We are excited for this opportunity to celebrate reading, creativity, innovation, and perseverance together as a school community.
Next week also marks an exciting transition milestone for our fourth graders. Students will have the opportunity to visit their prospective middle schools and learn more about what awaits them next year. Additionally, fourth grade families are invited to attend Middle School Information Night on June 3rd at 6:00 PM at their prospective middle schools. We encourage families to attend and learn more about this important next step in their child's educational journey.
On June 4th, we are excited to welcome back Attleboro High School's graduating seniors as they visit their former elementary and middle schools for one final walk before graduation. This special tradition serves as a powerful reminder that our students are, and always will be, Hawk Heroes. It is an opportunity for our current students to see what is possible through hard work, perseverance, and pride in their school community. To help celebrate our returning Hawks, we invite all students and staff to wear Attleboro Blue or their Hyman Fine gear and show your Hawk pride!
Please be sure to review the additional important end of the year dates and reminders listed below.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to another wonderful week of learning and growing together!

A major highlight of the week was our Fourth Grade Spring Performance. This year's production was especially unique because the storyline was written and created by our fourth graders themselves. The story followed a mysterious Game Master who took over the elementary school, challenging students to work together to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and ultimately save their school. The performance showcased not only our students' talents on stage but also their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The evening concluded with a very special reveal that delighted the audience! Congratulations to our fourth graders on a fantastic performance, and thank you to everyone who helped bring their vision to life. a new paragraph block.

As a reminder, our annual Book Swap Day will take place on June 5th. Students who wish to participate should be sure to bring in gently used books to exchange. This is always a fun event that encourages reading while giving books a new home with another young reader! |

As promised our students raised well over our Fun Run fundraising goal and so our Principal Challenge will take place on Monday, June 8th. Mrs. Dalessio is preparing for the DUNK TANK! Students will get the chance to dunk their principal during recess on Monday! |

This week, we are proud to recognize two outstanding first graders with Hawk Hero Principal Shout Outs!
Mateo is being celebrated for being a true gentleman, showing respect to his teacher and classmates by using his manners, saying thank you, and kindly holding doors open for others.
Evelyn is being recognized for her responsibility as a learner, consistently completing assignments on time and producing careful, meticulous work.
We are so proud of both students for the positive example they set in their classroom and school community! 🦅✨

Spring Things…from the Health Office
Spring is here with sunny, warmer days and early emergence of pollen and molds that trigger seasonal allergies. Children, who have never been diagnoses with seasonal allergies before, are often affected when the pollen/mold levels are high. Common symptoms include itchy/watery eyes, nasal stuffiness/drainage, scratchy throat, and headaches. If your child suffers from allergy symptoms, please contact your doctor for advice on eye drops, nasal sprays, or an appropriate non-drowsy allergy medication that can be taken before school to provide all day relief from symptoms.
Poison Ivy is everywhere. Contact with the oil from the plant’s leaf causes irritation and a red pimple-like rash. Children should wear appropriate clothing to protect skin exposure to poison ivy, especially in wooded or grassy areas. Showering after being outdoors is also a good practice to prevent irritation. If a skin rash develops, over-the-counter medications such as calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream will provide relief from minor symptoms. When the rash affects the face or eyes, contact your doctor, as a prescription medication may be needed. It is important to remove over-the-head clothing carefully to protect the face and eyes from contact with poison ivy on clothing.
As outdoor evening activities increase, the time of day when mosquitoes are most active, use of bug repellent can help prevent bites. Ticks can be found in the woods, but also in low bushes, grass and on pets. It is a good practice to check children and pets for ticks when they come in from outdoors.
Drinking enough fluids and good nutrition are very important during the warm weather as the body works harder to regulate temperature. Please encourage your child to have a full glass of a beverage, water preferred, with breakfast and to bring a drink for snack and lunch. Sunscreen can be applied in the morning since recess is usually outdoors, weather permitting.
