I have one new important item for you this week, and a second notice on another:
1. The SAT and PSAT are being offered during the school day on Wednesday, October 21. Sophomores can take the PSAT for free, and interested Juniors can take the test for $20. The SAT is offered for Seniors for a cost of $60. Email me immediately if you are interested and I'll work with you to register.
2. SECOND NOTICE: If you don't have a parent portal account and want one, email jconnor@attleboroschools.com from the email address you wish to be associated with Edgenuity. I will follow up this week with portal access instructions. The account will allow you to see time on task and progress in all Edgenuity courses. It is more timely than looking for grades in Aspen.
The schedule and guidance updates are below as per usual. Thank you for your time and attention. Joseph A. Connor, Principal |
\SchooLinks - the new Naviance
Attleboro's new college and career search tool and data center is now SchooLinks. All AVA students grades 9-12 are welcome to begin logging in and exploring this new platform. Please consult this Introduction slideshow for more instructions on how to log in and explore. For seniors planning to apply to any 4-year colleges, it is strongly recommended to please create your CommonApp account first HERE. Select "Create an Account" and then "First Year Student"
Ms Nellie will be meeting individually with seniors in the coming weeks to connect CommonApp accounts to SchooLinks and discuss college applications and more. College Visits
AVA juniors and seniors are still invited to join visits from college and career reps who come to AHS campus. Next week, AHS will be hosting UMass Amherst, Bryant University, and Colby College. Students, please check HERE for the visit schedule and directions on how to sign up. Visiting virutally is possible; please email Ms Nellie at least 2 school days in advance.
Senior Planning Night - Final Reminder
Next Thursday, September 24th, is Senior Planning and Financial Aid Night, hosted by the AHS Guidance team. The event will begin at 6:00 PM in Bray Auditorium, so we recommend parking in the back of the school in C Lot. All AVA seniors and families are strongly encouraged to attend and gather more information on the college and career and financial aid processes.
As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have an awesome weekend! |
