Dear Willett Families,

Thank you so much for joining us last night at our annual Welcome Back Night! It was wonderful to see so many of you engaged and excited about the year ahead. It was especially nice to reconnect with former students and hear about their journeys since leaving our school.

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers, whose hard work and passion make evenings like this possible. Their commitment to your child’s success is truly inspiring.

Your presence truly makes a difference in our school community, and we appreciate your partnership in supporting your child’s learning journey.

We look forward to a fantastic year filled with growth, collaboration, and success. Together, we can create a positive and nurturing environment where every student thrives.

Thank you again for being part of our school family!

Warm regards,

Mr. Jeffrey Cateon, Principal

By law, schools are required to have a school council that consists of equal representation of staff and families/community members. We will be working on both the current and new School Improvement Plan. Typically, meetings are held virtually from October - February. If you are interested in serving on the council, please reach out to our PTO President, Kaitlyn Nardini by email wesptopres@gmail.com. More information about school councils can be found here.

MA Mandated Screenings

All health screenings conducted in school are required by Massachusetts Law. Screenings are ongoing throughout the school year. Parents and legal guardians shall be provided with an opportunity to request, in writing, that their child not participate in the program. This request must be written each year and be specific to which screening you do not wish your child to participate.

Elementary Screenings are as follow:

Vision Screening
Vision screening is conducted for all grades K – 4. Parents are notified if the student does not pass for referral to their physician for follow-up.

Hearing Screening
Hearing screening is conducted for all grades K - 3. Parents are notified if the student does not pass for referral to their physician for follow-up.

Growth Development Screening
Growth screening is conducted for students in grades 1 and 4. Heights and weights are measured and calculated into BMI or Body Mass Index.

  • Vision Screening for Kindergarten students will be on September 25th.

  • The Commonwealth Mobile Oral Health Dentist will be coming to Willett on September 30th. If you have signed consent for your child to be seen, please make sure they are in school that day. There is still time for you to sign consent, please notify the office if you need a form sent home.
