Principal's Message

Dear Thacher Families,

We are incredibly humbled by the financial support we received from the TES/ELC community to support technology integration in our classrooms. We cannot thank you enough, and we promise to utilize these funds to prepare your students for our increasingly technological world. While we were disappointed we couldn't have you be a part of today's run, your children had a blast, and we'd also like to thank the staff from Boosterthon for putting on such a great event. Students may have come home a bit disappointed as we weren't able to do "The Sliming" due to the timeline of the day with the run being inside...but fear not, we'll be doing it next week.

We hope you saw the Facebook Live videos from each grade level run. If you missed them, check our our Facebook Page! You can also view a photo album courtesy of one of our nurses, Mrs. Kilfoyle (our resident photographer!). Click HERE to view of Fun Run photo album.

We hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and please take a moment to stop and reflect on the sacrifices the men and women of our armed forces have made to allow us to live in a world where we can have days like today.

Warm regards,

Frank Rich, Principal

Art News from Ms. Maglione: A Colorful Finish to a Creative Year!

Dear Parents & Caregivers,

As our school year winds down, I wanted to share a final glimpse into the amazing work your children have been doing in the art room. It has truly been an incredible year filled with imagination, exploration, and creative growth. This will be my last Panda Press of the year, and I couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished together!

Here's what our talented young artists have been up to:

  • 4th Grade: Fourth graders are wrapping up the year with stunning Tropical Tree Sunset landscapes that are as vibrant as they are serene. Integrating literacy with art, students wrote beautiful poems describing a sunrise or sunset to accompany their paintings—each piece combining visual and written expression in a powerful way.

  • 3rd Grade: In a beautiful blend of science and art, third graders created Planet Panorama Paintings—a colorful celebration of space that ties in with their science curriculum.

  • 2nd Grade: Our second graders explored symmetry through their delightful Fantastic Frog paintings and are now diving into writing and illustrating their very own Butterfly Biography Books.

  • 1st Grade: Inspired by the book Mouse Paint, first graders created bright and cheerful color wheels. They are now using their imaginations to draw Bugs in a Jar—each one full of character and detail!

  • Kindergarten: We're nearing the end of our Alphabet Art adventures! Kindergarteners recently made creative xylophone pictures for the letter X and sunny yellow Forsythia flowers for the letter Y.

  • Insights Students: Our Insights artists have been working together on Unified Sports Banners for each class, which will proudly hang during our upcoming Special Olympics celebration. Their teamwork and creativity have been truly inspiring.

Thank you for sharing your amazing children with me this year. It's been a joy to watch them grow as artists and individuals. Wishing you a wonderful summer filled with creativity and color!

Warmly,
Ms. Maglione
