Dear Families,
As we continue moving through the school year, our classrooms remain filled with meaningful learning, collaboration, and growth. It’s always exciting to see students building confidence and taking pride in their work as they reach new milestones.Thacher was well represented at Thursday evening's A Night to Discover at Attleboro High, and it was truly a wonderful event that showcased the incredible work of our students and staff. We are also looking forward to next weekend’s Someone Special Dance, which is sure to be a fun and memorable event for our school community. Additionally, please note that Term 2 report cards will be published on Wednesday. Thank you for your continued support in helping make our school a positive and engaging place for all students.
Warm regards, Frank Rich, Principal |

🍎 This Month in Health & Wellness 🍎 |
Hello Thacher Families,
We’ve survived the blizzard and Spring is starting to peek through the winter weather! During the last few weeks, lessons focused on Disease Prevention and Awareness. Students learned the signs and symptoms for common communicable (contagious) and noncommunicable diseases, like diabetes, heart disease, asthma, and more. Although genetics and other factors outside of our control may lead to noncommunicable diseases, emphasis was placed on lifelong healthy eating, exercise and activity, and maintaining good hygiene to avoid disease as best we can.
With the rainier days early this week, we’ve focused on a calm, rainy day theme in the classroom; practicing yoga and stretching, mindfulness, dancing, and exercising indoors. This week, students are ‘jumping in puddles’ to collect foods to sort in the five major food groups. Students are finishing our Nutrition unit, where we learned about the major nutrients (carbohydrates, healthy fats, proteins, vitamins, and minerals), healthy food choices, food groups, the difference between processed and whole foods, and how to create a balanced meal. Grade 4 is finishing a group Google Slides project on the major nutrients that they will present to their peers.
I look forward to some warmer weather and the opportunity to take our Wellness classes outdoors for teamwork games, skills, and nature walks. For safety, it would be best if students could wear sneakers on Wellness days. Best, Ms. Ashley Hanson, Health & Wellness specialist ahanson@attleborops.net |
