Principal's Message

Dear Thacher Families,

For all the snow fans out there it looks like we’re finally getting our fair share of winter weather! With one week before vacation, we have a lot to celebrate this upcoming week. Please check out our upcoming spirit days section below, as we have a full week of spirit days this week! The 100th day of school is upon us as well. Grades 1-4 will be celebrating it on Tuesday and Kindergarten will be celebrating on February 26th. Thank you to our PTO and all the volunteers who made last week’s book fair such a huge success.

Reminder, next Friday 2/14 is an Early Release Day for K-4 with dismissal at 12:25.

Basketball:

We are just finishing up our basketball unit. We’ve been working on the basics of dribbling, passing, and shooting.   Our students continue to amaze me with how much their basketball skills are improving with each lesson.  Our culminating activity involved students having a choice of a 3 on 3 basketball game or an activity called “make it take it”.  By allowing students to choose their activity they were able to enjoy the lesson that much more!

Laps 4 L.A.   -    Friends Helping Friends

Thank you again for supporting our Friends Helping Friends fundraiser for fire victims in Los Angeles.  Our goal was  to teach compassion and how rewarding it feels to help others.  I was overwhelmed by the generosity and the amount of love our students exhibited  throughout this activity.  The letters, cards, posters, and financial generosity from our surrounding community is what makes Thacher such an amazing place.

Feel free to contact me anytime.

Rooms/Attleboro App

Dear APS Families,

We’re pleased to announce an update to the Attleboro Public Schools mobile app, rolling out the week of January 27!

Here’s what’s new:

  • Enhanced Navigation: A more intuitive design for quick access to announcements, messages, and class information.

  • Streamlined Communication: Faster, easier ways to connect with your student’s teachers.

To enjoy these improvements, update your app through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store during the week of January 27. If you have automatic updates enabled, no action is needed.

For a preview of the new features, check out the resources below:

High School Events

Attleboro Families:

Attleboro High School greatly appreciates the support of families at all AHS sporting events.   While most students are there to watch the games and enjoy the event, a number of students have been left/dropped off unsupervised. This has created safety concerns and disruptions for other fans in attendance and game management staff.

Moving forward, ALL middle/elementary school aged students and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult at all high school events.  We appreciate your support keeping all in attendance supervised while allowing an enjoyable environment for all.

Please know this expectation is currently in place for AHS events moving forward.

We look forward to seeing you all soon and thank you for supporting AHS!

Thank you.
