Dear Families,
It’s been another exciting week here at school, and our building was buzzing with school spirit as many classes incorporated a fun Patriots theme into their lessons! From reading and writing to math and teamwork activities, students showed great enthusiasm while connecting learning to something they love. As we head into the coming weeks, please remember that next Friday is an early release day, and there will be no school the following week for February break. Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support—we’re so proud of the learning happening every day in our school.
Lastly, we're expanding an indoor sensory play area for our younger students and those with sensory regulation needs. If you have items such as a portable slide, rocker boat, large yoga ball, or a crash pad that your child no longer uses, we'd love to put them to good use—especially for indoor recess on these chilly, snowy days! Warm regards,
Frank Rich, Principal Sarah Desautel, Asst. Principal |

Arrival & Dismissal Safety Reminder |
|
|
To help keep our students and staff safe during arrival and dismissal, please remember that only school buses and approved vehicles may drive through the bus line. The car drop-off line should be used by the vast majority of families (approximately 99%).
A small number of students require specific accommodations and have been granted permission to be dropped off in the bus line. If you have not received prior approval, please continue to use the car drop-off line. Our staff on duty have been notified of who those families are.
We kindly ask all families to be patient and respectful of our staff, who are working hard to ensure that every student arrives and departs safely each day. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our school community safe. |

🍎 This Month in Health & Wellness 🍎 |

Hello Thacher Families,
During the winter months, students have been learning about Mental Health and Wellness and the importance of a positive growth mindset. One key emotion we’ve focused on these past few weeks is stress, anxiety, and worry; how to recognize it and healthy ways to manage these feelings. What is in your control to change? If something is out of your control, how can we change our reaction to it? We have also had many discussions about how to share happiness, how to react when we are feeling angry, and how to be empathetic.
You may have noticed students coming home with worksheets on my favorite topic: Growth Mindset. Students have been challenged to maintain a positive mindset and to ‘rearrange’ any negative thoughts that may pop into their brains. We know that challenges make us stronger, mistakes help us grow, and the power of adding the power of the word ‘yet’ to our “I can’t” statements. Some classes have talked about goal setting, self-improvement, and practiced identifying our weaknesses and sharing our strengths to help others.
As February is American Heart Health Month, we are gearing up to learn about the cardiovascular system, disease and illness prevention, and then the importance of exercising and eating healthy foods. Best,
Ms. Ashley Hanson, Health & Wellness specialist ahanson@attleborops.net |

We're ready to take orders for this year's yearbook! However, we're still in the process of creating our annual yearbook and could use your help. If you have any photos that you may have taken at school events that you feel might be a good addition to the yearbook, please use this PHOTO link to upload them. Please use this YEARBOOK link to place an order. The deadline to order isn't until April 17th.
4th GRADE FAMILIES ONLY: We provide each of our 4th graders with a yearbook, free of charge, as part of our gift as they depart for the middle schools. You DO NOT need to place an order. However, if a sibling in a younger grade wants their own copy, the family would need to use the link above to place that order. |
