Principal's Message

Dear Thacher Families,

With any luck, the illnesses that were widespread before break have run their course and we're coming out the other end of a brutal cold and flu season.

We're also beginning to shift our focus some towards the 2025-26 school year with Kindergarten Information Night on Thursday evening. If you know anyone with a child entering K in the fall, please pass along the flyer below. We're looking forward to meeting our new families later this week!

We're looking forward to a great week of celebrating reading with our Read Across America Sprit Week (See flyer below)!

Sincerely,

Frank Rich, Principal

Sarah Desautel, Asst. Principal

K Info

This Month in PE

This week we have started our hockey unit. Students are having a fantastic time learning the basics of the sport, including stick handling, passing, shooting, and teamwork.

Throughout this unit, we are focusing on building important skills such as coordination, balance, and sportsmanship. In addition to the physical skills, we’re emphasizing the value of working together as a team, communicating, and respecting one another.

Stick handling and passing: Learning to control the puck and pass to teammates.

Shooting and scoring: Practicing proper technique for taking shots on goal.

Game play: Engaging in friendly, structured games to apply their skills in a team setting.

Safety: Emphasizing safe play and using appropriate equipment during activities.

If you have any concerns or would like more information about our hockey unit, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for supporting your child’s physical education experience!

It is that time of year where we typically see an increase in illness, and we would like to take an opportunity to remind parent/guardians of the importance of having up-to-date contact information at the school for us to reach you in a time of need.  In addition, we are asking that you have additional emergency contacts that are available to pick up the child if needed.

If the nurse calls for the student's dismissal, it is standard practice for the dismissal to occur within the hour.  Thank you in advance for your support so we can continue to provide the best care for all students.
