Principal's Message

Dear Thacher Families,

We had an amazing turnout for our annual Veterans' Day parade. We feel so fortunate to be able to honor those who have served our nation. Please enjoy the Veterans Parade Video, below of today's event. We hope you have a wonderful long weekend and take time to thank those who have been a part of our armed forces.

As we approach the month of November, we invite you to participate in our "30 Days of Thanks & Planks" challenge.  Starting Friday, November 1st, you'll work to increase your plank hold from 20 seconds on day 1 to an impressive 3 minutes by day 30!  Each day, as you focus on your planks, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on something you're grateful for. It's important to take time to appreciate the little things in our lives.

Attached is a calendar for you to follow.  We hope you will join us in this fun and uplifting activity.

Be kind & be well,

Lisa and Stephanie

Queridas familias,

This Week in PE

Throughout this incredibly mild Fall, we have taken full advantage and enjoyed taking our students outside as much as possible.  We finished our team building activities and just wrapped up our annual Thacher Olympic fall session.  Thacher students seemed to surprise themselves with how well they did throughout this Olympic unit.

Thacher Olympics:

  • Softball Throw

  • Basketball “Hot Shot”

  • Standing Long Jump

  • 40 yard dash

  • ¼ mile run

  • Sit and Reach (flexibility)

Holiday Fitness Fun:

I absolutely LOVE incorporating all of our Holidays into fun or even spooky themed movement based activities.  All students participated in the Great Pumpkin Smash and Ghost and Goblin tag.  Both activities included A LOT of moving, throwing, catching, and team building skills.  As we all know, kids need to move, especially throughout the holiday seasons.  Looking forward to introducing my annual Grinch O’ Meter and all the fun it will entail!!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime about any questions or concerns.
