Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Thank you to all the families who participated in our recent parent/guardian-teacher conferences. We hope you found these conversations valuable and came away with a clear picture of your child's progress, strengths, and areas for continued growth. These face-to-face connections between home and school are so important, and we're grateful for the time you took to meet with your child's teacher.

The partnership between families and our school is truly the foundation of student success. When we work together—sharing insights, celebrating achievements, and supporting challenges—our students thrive. Your involvement, whether through conferences, reading with your child at home, or simply asking about their day, makes a meaningful difference in their educational journey.

We're look forward to our Veterans Day parade on Monday!

Warm regards,

Frank Rich, Principal

Sarah Desautel, Asst. Principal

Arrival and Dismissal

Please remember that the bus loop is reserved exclusively for buses during arrival and dismissal times. For the safety of all our students, families must use the designated parent drop-off and pick-up areas. Driving through the bus loop creates dangerous conditions for children boarding and exiting buses. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.

Celebrating Macy’s Gotcha Day! 🐾

This week, we celebrated our therapy dog Macy’s Gotcha Day — the day she officially became part of our Thacher family!

Students and staff joined in the fun by wearing paw prints, Macy's brown and white colors, and Thacher colors, writing and drawing about what Macy means to them, and sharing lots of smiles (and a few belly rubs!). Macy soaked up all the love and attention — and, of course, a few extra treats.

We’re so grateful for the calm, comfort, and joy Macy brings to our school each day. Thank you to everyone who helped make her Gotcha Day paw-sitively special!

(See some of our fun moments below!) 🐶💙

Macy's Classroom Visits

I had the best week visiting classrooms! In Mrs. Gordon’s class, I joined circle time and listened to their story of the day — I even sat so nicely during sharing time (and might have gotten a few extra pets!). In Ms. Remillard’s class, my new friend Hailey read me a story, and I loved every minute of it. Then in Ms. Young’s class, I got to join center time and explore all the fun activities with the students — so much fun!

I can’t wait to keep visiting more classrooms, meeting new friends, and spreading smiles wherever I go. Thanks for making me feel so loved, Thacher! 💙

Love and tail wags,
Macy 🐶

This Month in PE

The physical education department has had a tremendous start to the year!  We have focused on the importance of working with others to complete an array of tasks in and out of the gymnasium.  Good sportsmanship is always at the forefront of my lessons and building a classroom environment of kindness and respect makes the whole school year that much more exciting and FUN!

We just completed our first annual Walking Club, massive successful Friends Helping Friends fund raiser, and our Fall session of Thacher Olympics.   Thank you for your ongoing support of  not only these programs but all we do here at Thacher to make our community a better place!

Feel free to contact me anytime about upcoming events or how to get involved.
