Principal's Message

Dear Thacher Families,

Parent conferences are coming up in a couple of weeks. If you haven't received it already, be on the lookout for information from your child's teacher for how to book your meeting time.

On Tuesday, we were thrilled to welcome back former Patriot and author Malcolm Mitchell who read his book, My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World, to our second graders. Mr. Mitchell shared, that although he may be a Super Bowl Champion he considers discovering a love of reading his greatest achievement! Huge thank you to Patriot Subaru of North Attleboro for providing this opportunity for our students!

On Wednesday evening, Thacher was very well represented at a reception held at Patriot Subaru as Bridget from Ms. Marcotte's class and Daniel from Ms. Andrade's class celebrated their love of reading with other students throughout our community!

TES October Family Activity

With Halloween is just a few weeks away, our principal, Mr. Rich, and assistant principal, Mrs. Desautel, need some help deciding on their Halloween costumes!

Can you help them design their costume? You can use newspaper/magazine clippings, glitter, crayons, markers etc. or anything that will help your idea come to life! Mr. Rich and Mrs. Desautel will look over all the entries and each will pick a winner from the ideas they receive.

The winning ideas will receive a small prize AND Mr. Rich and Mrs. Desautel will wear their winning idea for Fall Spirit Day on October 31st!

The Coloring Pages are linked here. If your family needs a printed copy of the sheets, email sdesautel@attleboroschools.com to request one. Please include your student’s name/teacher’s name in the email request.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Veterans Day Parade

We would like to show our appreciation for the TES/ELC community members who have served our country through a parade. On Friday, November 8th at 9:15 am, students and staff will line the parade route to show their gratitude for our veterans as they parade around the building. The TES/ELC student connected to the active military/veteran will get to walk the parade route with their service member. After the parade, there will be a quick reception for our veterans/active service members in the cafeteria.

If you or a family member is an active service member or veteran of our armed forces and is available to join us on Friday, November 8th at 9:15 am please fill out TES/ELC Veterans Day Parade Google Form by Friday, November 1st

Getting to enjoy the event with your family

We have broken the event up into smaller time blocks. Our hope is that you find a block you can volunteer for and then be with your family for the rest.

STEM Week

This Week in Physical Education

We’re thrilled to announce our upcoming soccer unit in physical education! Starting this week, students will dive into the fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, passing, and teamwork. Our focus will be on developing skills while fostering a love for physical activity and cooperation. We encourage you to engage with your child by discussing what they learn and, if possible, practicing some skills at home. Thank you for your support as we promote an active and healthy lifestyle!

In our first week, we will focus on dribbling, a key skill for all players. Students will learn various techniques to improve their control and coordination while maneuvering the ball. Through fun drills and games, they’ll develop their confidence and agility on the field. We will then move onto passing and small-sided games as students continue to grow with their soccer skills. While playing soccer or any other activity that we do in P.E an emphasis on sportsmanship is always practiced.

If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out at anytime!
