Principal's Message

Dear Families,

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through October — the month is flying by! There’s so much excitement happening around school, and we’re looking forward to another great week together.

We hope to see many of you tonight at our PTO’s Harvest Night from 5:30–7:30 PM here at the school. It’s always such a fun community event with raffle baskets, spirit wear for sale, and plenty of fall fun for the whole family!

Next week brings two fun Spirit Days:

  • Monday: Show your Patriots pride or wear red, white, and blue as our second graders welcome Author and Former Patriots Player Malcolm Mitchell for a special visit!

  • Friday: Join us for our Pink Together Spirit Day in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Let’s fill the halls with pink to show our support and care for those impacted.

Enjoy the weekend, and we’ll see everyone back on Monday ready for another exciting week at Thacher!

Warm regards,

Frank Rich, Principal

Sarah Desautel, Asst. Principal

Veterans' Day Parade

We would like to show our appreciation for the TES/ELC community members who have served our country through a parade. On Monday, November 10th at 9:15 am, students and staff will line the parade route to show their gratitude for our veterans as they parade around the building. The TES/ELC student connected to the active military/veteran will get to walk the parade route with their service member. After the parade, there will be a quick reception for our veterans/active service members in the cafeteria.

If you or a family member is an active service member or
veteran of our armed forces and is available to join us on Monday, November 10th at 9:15 am please fill out TES/ELC Veterans Day Parade Google Form by Wednesday, November 5th: https://forms.gle/CTPLVrizDoRUGD53A

School Council

We’re excited to invite parents, caregivers, and community members to join our School Council! By law, every school has a council made up of both staff, family, and community representatives, and your voice is an important part of shaping our school’s future.

This year, the council will be working on both our current and new School Improvement Plan. Meetings are usually held virtually from October through February, making it easy to participate from home.

If you’re interested in serving or would like to learn more, please reach out me at frich@attleboroschools.com

You can also find additional information about School Councils here. We would love for you to join us!

Community Read

Be on the lookout for the Attleboro Public Library Community Read Passport coming home in your child’s backpack. Students can use these passports to collect stamps at the various community reading events held throughout the school year. Once the passports are filled, they can bring them to school or to the public library to receive special recognition at the summer reading kick-off in June.  All events will be listed on the calendar at attleborolibrary.org. The first event is on Monday, Oct 20 @6:30 pm at the Attleboro Public Library.
