Principal's Message

Dear Thacher Families,

We could use your help! We are thrilled that so many families are connecting with our teachers via the Rooms app as there is a mountain of evidence supporting the positive impact on our work when families work in tandem with the school. Families are taking advantage of the ease of communication (yay!) to reach out via Rooms when their child is going to be out sick or dismissed from school. The issue with using Rooms in those two instances is that if the message is sent while the teacher is in front of the class teaching, they won't be able to relay it to the office. Or, what has happened more frequently recently thanks to the swirling COVID/flu/stomach bug, is that a family messages the teacher, but the teacher is absent and thereby unable to pass the message along to the office. With this in mind, please send in a hard copy of a note if you know your child will be dismissed. That way, the substitute can pass it along to the office and we can make sure your child is ready when you arrive.

Also, each year, students in grades 3-12 participate in a survey as part of Attleboro's involvement in the Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment (MCIEA) which aims to help schools and the community measure school quality outside of simply relying on MCAS data. Our third and fourth-grade students will be participating in this year's survey between now and February break. The survey takes approximately 15-30 minutes and is done during class. If you would like to see the results of previous surveys/questions, please visit the MCIEA School Quality Measures Dashboard.

Lastly, congratulations to our January Golden Ticket Winners for being "goal getters!"

From the Art Room

Dear Thacher Families,

Happy New Year!  January has been an exciting and creative month in the art room.  I'm thrilled to share that all of our students have been busy creating amazing artwork that will become one-of-a-kind treasured keepsakes with our Square1 Art Fundraiser.

The PTO will be sending home details about the fundraiser, including dates and how you can participate.

Thank you for your continued support, and for encouraging your young artists!

Warm Regards,

Ms. Maglione

  • Streamlined Communication: Faster, easier ways to connect with your student’s teachers.

To enjoy these improvements, update your app through the iOS App Store or Google Play Store during the week of January 27. If you have automatic updates enabled, no action is needed.

High School Events

Attleboro Families:

Attleboro High School greatly appreciates the support of families at all AHS sporting events.   While most students are there to watch the games and enjoy the event, a number of students have been left/dropped off unsupervised. This has created safety concerns and disruptions for other fans in attendance and game management staff.

Moving forward, ALL middle/elementary school aged students and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult at all high school events.  We appreciate your support keeping all in attendance supervised while allowing an enjoyable environment for all.

Please know this expectation is currently in place for AHS events moving forward.

We look forward to seeing you all soon and thank you for supporting AHS!

Thank you.
