Another week done! It is great to see the students and staff getting into their routines. Students have been excited to show what they are learning in class. Between routines, specials, reading and math - our STARS are working hard. I am sure they are going home exhausted! If your children are anything like mine, when you ask them how their day was - you don't get much information. Try asking the questions below and maybe you will get more out of them. We will also be trying to fill in the gaps for you by updating you regularly with pictures and highlights.
This year we started announcing student and staff birthdays over the loudspeaker. It gives us a chance to celebrate each other and build our school community.
If you have not signed off on the Student Handbook, please do so as soon as possible. The directions are below. They were also sent in a separate message this week.
The Scholastic Bookfair starts Monday. The classes will go during their Library Media Center Special. On Monday, the following classes will attend: Patrone, FitzGerald, Resende, and Crocker. All students will visit the bookfair. If students forget their money, they can go on the make up session on Friday. The boookfair will also be open during Welcome Back Night.
Have a great weekend!
The last day to return your summer reading challenge log will be on Friday, September 27th.
We will raffle off 2 Altitude gift cards this year, so don't forget to bring them in!
Picture day is on Tuesday, October 8th. Information should have been sent home. You can order online for convenience.
Please review the student handbook and complete the sign off process in ASPEN. It is expected that all students have a parent/guardian complete this.
We are so lucky to be a Title 1 school. This allows us to provide purposeful interventions to support reading development in our students.
Please see these important newsletters for information about our Title I programming.
Are you interested in learning more about how Studley works? Are you passionate about making a difference in the Studley community? If yes, sign up for a chance to be on our School Council.
What is School Council?
The council meets monthly right before the PTO meeting.
It is made up of teachers/staff, parents, and community members.
The council works on developing goals and implementing action plans to meet those goals.
If interested - email lboyle@attleboroschools.com
While we encourage the use of water bottles for hydration, we are asking that you are mindful of the size of the water bottle you are sending to school. Some of the bigger water bottles are difficult for students to carry and are constantly being knocked over in the classroom, causing work to be ruined.
In addition to the size of the bottle, we are asking that bottles be filled with water only. Water is a healthy choice that keeps the mind ready for learning. This will prevent sticky situations and unnecessary messes in the classroom. We appreciate your cooperation with this.
Arrival begins at 8:30AM, and the bell rings at 8:45AM. This means school starts promptly at 8:45AM, after which students will be marked tardy. All students who are tardy will need to be buzzed into the office with an adult. It is important to arrive at school on time daily in order to set your child up for a successful day.
Please click on the link for a description of our Arrival and Dismissal Protocols. Our staff has a structured system designed to keep everyone safe. Please follow the guidance and direction of staff members. For our returning families, please be patient with our new families and help guide them through our routines. It really does make a difference!
If your child is going to go home DIFFERENTLY than their typical way or getting dismissed early, please notify the school as soon as possible:

Similar to last year, breakfast and lunch is provided free of charge. You can find food menus on the website at https://www.fdmealplanner.com/#Attleboro.
Breakfast:
For those students who need to eat breakfast, we ask that you drop them off at 8:30AM. We try to get them back to class for the start of school at 8:45AM. This helps them start the day on time with all their classmates.
Lunch:
Please review lunch choices with your child, and make sure there is something they will like. For younger students, talk to them about which choice they want, so making the choice in the classroom is easier for them.
Communication is key. We are all on the same team. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. We ask that your child's teacher ALWAYS be the first point of contact. They often have more information and can best answer your questions.
Studley Star: Each week, you will receive communication from the school sharing important news and updates. Please be sure to read it, so you are up to date on the happenings at school.
APS Mobile App/Rooms: Please be sure you download the Attleboro Public Schools mobile app. This application features Rooms, which is the platform that allows teachers and administration to communicate with families. If you need help with this, we will have support at our Meet and Greet.
Be sure to join Studley and PTO Facebook pages:
For other important dates, please review our website as well as the district calendar -
The best way for your child to be successful is to come to school. They cannot learn if they are not in school. We understand there are illnesses and family situations that come up, and of course we want to support those. We do not want students coming to school when they are sick. However, it is important to note that we take attendance seriously and work together with families to ensure a successful year. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
