Welcome Back

It’s go time! The time we all have been waiting for. Studley is ready and waiting with open arms to welcome our students back for another fun filled year of learning. It was so nice to see all of you who were able to come on Wednesday. The start of the new year is always filled with a lot of emotions - a mixture of excitement and nerves. I’m sure this is true for students, parents, and even our staff. Let's remember to be patient with one another. I look forward to working with you as partners in your child’s education.

What to Expect on the First Day

Although the first day is a big day, and it’s very exciting, we still need to follow our systems and procedures. Please remember to take all your first day pictures at home, so you can capture this important day.  We will not be able to accommodate parents getting out of their cars during drop off to take pictures. In addition, parents are not able to come into the building or walk them to class. We love your children, and we will take good care of them!

Election Day - September 3rd

September 3rd is the first day of school and Primary Election Day in Massachusetts. Many of you may already know that Studley is a polling site for all elections for the City of Attleboro.

Similar to last year, we have a plan to ensure everybody can get in and out of the school safely during the elections. The drop-off and pick-up routines will remain the same for students. Voting will take place in the gymnasium, which means this area will be closed to students and staff while school is in session. We are able to keep that area closed and separate from the rest of the building.

During school hours, voters will not have any access to any other parts of the school, and the doors will remain closed with a polling worker and an Attleboro police officer located at them.

Transportation/Bus Routes

24/25 Bus Routes have been published to the Transportation website and are available for viewing. Please arrive at the bus stop approximately 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. This allows for some variation in the bus route due to unanticipated events. Late applications received through August 22, 2024, have been processed and students will have a bus for the first day of school. Any applications received after August 22, 2024, will be placed on a waitlist in order for bus routes to be established. Students will be assigned a bus as seats become available.

Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival begins at 8:30AM, and the bell rings at 8:45AM. This means school starts promptly at 8:45AM, after which students will be marked tardy. All students who are tardy will need to be buzzed into the office with an adult. It is important to arrive at school on time daily in order to set your child up for a successful day.

Please click on the link for a description of our Arrival and Dismissal Protocols. Our staff has a structured system designed to keep everyone safe. Please follow the guidance and direction of staff members. For our returning families, please be patient with our new families and help guide them through our routines. It really does make a difference!

Dismissal Plan

If you have not communicated how your child will be going home, it is important you fill out the form ASAP. It will help us be prepared for the first day.

You can find the form here: https://forms.gle/W8hChheycxmT3yAy9

Changes to Dismissal Plan

If your child is going to go home DIFFERENTLY than their typical way or getting dismissed early, please notify the school as soon as possible:

For planned changes or dismissals, you can (choose one):

  • send a handwrititen note

  • send an email to the teacher and cc idamiani@attleboroschools.com

  • call the office at 508-222-2621

For unexpected/same day changes or dismissals after the school day starts:

Since the teachers are instructing students, we cannot guarantee they will see your email, which is why we ask you to contact the office after the school day starts. We know unforeseen circumstances come up, but we ask that you do your best to call before 2:00PM.

  • Please call the office at 508-222-2621 or

  • Email idamiani@attleboroschools.com.

Breakfast and Lunch

Similar to last year, breakfast and lunch is provided free of charge. You can find food menus on the website at https://www.fdmealplanner.com/#Attleboro.

Breakfast:

For those students who need to eat breakfast, we ask that you drop them off at 8:30AM. We try to get them back to class for the start of school at 8:45AM. This helps them start the day on time with all their classmates.

Lunch:

Please review lunch choices with your child, and make sure there is something they will like. For younger students, talk to them about which choice they want, so making the choice in the classroom is easier for them.

Communication

Communication is key. We are all on the same team. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. We ask that your child's teacher ALWAYS be the first point of contact. They often have more information and can best answer your questions.

Studley Star: Each week, you will receive communication from the school sharing important news and updates. Please be sure to read it, so you are up to date on the happenings at school.

APS Mobile App/Rooms: Please be sure you download the Attleboro Public Schools mobile app. This application features Rooms, which is the platform that allows teachers and administration to communicate with families. If you need help with this, we will have support at our Meet and Greet.

School Issued Devices

We will be checking in devices this week. We will reach out to the families directly if your child is missing their chromebook and/or charger.

Attendance

The best way for your child to be successful is to come to school. They cannot learn if they are not in school. We understand there are illnesses and family situations that come up, and of course we want to support those. We do not want students coming to school when they are sick. However, it is important to note that we take attendance seriously and work together with families to ensure a successful year. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Absences/Dismissals

If your child is going to be absent:

  • send a handwrititen note

  • send an email to the teacher and cc idamiani@attleboroschools.com

  • call the office at 508-222-2621

For planned dismissals, you can (choose one):

  • send a handwritten note

  • send an email to the teacher and cc idamiani@attleboroschools.com

  • call the office at 508-222-2621

For unexpected/same day dismissals after the day starts:

Please call the office at 508-222-2621 or email idamiani@attleboroschools.com. Since the teachers are instructing students, we cannot guarantee they will see your email, which is why we ask you to contact the office after the school day starts.
