Message From the Principal

Happy Weekend Hyman Fine,

It was another great week of teaching and learning. Today we had a very special guest at Hyman Fine... JiJi the penguin stopped by to kick off another great year with ST Math. If you didn't know, ST Math is one of our online math platforms that we use to expand and strengthen students mathematical thinking. Our goal was to have all students logged onto the program and puzzling by today. It's one thing about Hyman Fine, we love a good challenge and boy do we rise to the occasion! There was lots of celebrating and cheering today! Jiji was extra proud of our strong start to another great year solving puzzles! Ask your child about their ST Math journey this weekend!

Next week PTO will be hosting our Scholastic Book Fair. As you know, our school events could not be possible without the support and partnership we have with our parents. Thank you for volunteering your time to run the registers or help our kiddos pick out books. We still need more help! If you have an up-to-date CORI and the time to volunteer, please consider signing up! Check out the signup if your time permits!

We can't wait to see you next week at our Welcome Back Night on Thursday, September 25th from 5:30โ€“7:30 PM. This special evening is an opportunity for students and families to visit classrooms, meet teachers, and explore all that our school has to offer. Weโ€™ll also be highlighting the many partnerships and resources available to our families through our broader community. Although our event offers an Open House feel, students are expected to stay with their adults and show Hawk Hero behaviors. We hope you can all join us!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Dalessio, Principal

School Council

I am looking to get our School Council up and running this fall. The team consists of equal representation of staff and families/community members. The team works together to develop our School Improvement plan. We would meet five times throughout the school year. The team will meet on Tuesdays at 5pm, typically before a scheduled PTO meeting. If you are looking to be a part of our School Council, please email me at sdalessio@attleboroschools.com

Fall Family Literacy Night

Please save the date for our Fine Fall Family Literacy Night on Thursday, October 9th! The event will be from 5:30-7:00pm and families can come and go as their schedule allows. You'll receive a paper invitation in a couple weeks and it's helpful to RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Feinstein Junior Scholars

ticket

Hyman Fine takes part in being a Feinstein Leadership School, part of the Feinstein Foundation. This foundation was founded by Alan Shawn Feinstein in 1991. Feinstein Leadership Schools are committed to teaching students to be caring and compassionate, and to help others in their community.

A Feinstein Flyer and Feinstein card will be going home with your student next week. Keep these items in in a safe spot. A Golden Ticket (pictured above) will be assigned to our students but kept here in our building. Each week, the Feinstein Foundation selects golden tickets as their GOLDEN TICKET winners. Winning ticket winners earn money for their school and charitable donations. Your Jr. Scholar Feinstein card rewards our Jr. Scholars discounts on activities/entrance fees to various museums, aquariums, parks and more. That information is listed below and will be going home in your student back packs.
