Dear Fine Families,
It was a great week returning from April Break, and we hope all of our families enjoyed a restful and refreshing spring vacation. Our students and staff jumped right back into the swing of things, and it has been wonderful to see the focus, enthusiasm, and momentum as we head into the final stretch of the school year. We are excited and ready to finish the year strong!
Looking ahead, next week is Staff Appreciation Week. Our PTO has planned some thoughtful and creative ways to celebrate our incredible staff, and we are so grateful for all they do each and every day for our students. Be sure to check out the PTO section to see what they have in store.
On May 4th we invite your student to celebrate Star Wars Day! May the fourth be with you!
We are also looking forward to a special week for our third grade students, who will be performing for both their peers and their families. Additional details regarding the performance will be shared by Mrs. Bedrosian. We can’t wait to see another amazing showcase of student talent and hard work!
On May 8th, we will come together for our Hawk Hero Assembly, where we will kick off our Fun Run Fundraiser! Students will be going home with their official Fun Run lanyards, and we are excited to begin this fun and active event. This year, we are raising funds for playground updates and schoolwide enrichment programs. Remember register on mybooster.com. We are aiming for 80% student registration, and we appreciate your support in helping us reach this goal. Be sure to check out the Fun Run details below for more information.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support—we are looking forward to another fantastic week ahead!

This week, we are proud to recognize three fourth graders. Celebrating our oldest student leaders is always a special treat. With some, we reflect on the strength of their character and the choices they make; with others, we appreciate the insight they bring to academic conversations; and for some, we celebrate the growth and progress they’ve worked hard to achieve.
No matter the reason, each conversation is a joyful reminder of the incredible students in our school. Congratulations to these amazing Hawk Heroes. We are so proud of you! 🦅✨
Way to go Kiara (4), Ryuu (4), Kira (4)

Students get a prize just for registering and our school wide incentives get more exciting as we work together to raise funds. And this year, Booster has partnered with Great Wolf Lodge, so if we hit our registration goal of 80%, they are giving everyone something fun!
We are so excited for the fun to begin. Please see the info flyer below for more details. You can view the flyer in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole.

A reminder to all families: Every school day matters for student success. While we recognize the value of family time, cultural experiences, and enrichment activities, families are reminded to consider the impact of missed class time. Vacation/extracurricular absences are unexcused and represent learning time that cannot be recovered.
If you have questions about attendance or need support, please reach out. We appreciate your partnership in your child's education.

Spring Things…from the Health Office
Spring is here with sunny, warmer days and early emergence of pollen and molds that trigger seasonal allergies. Children, who have never been diagnoses with seasonal allergies before, are often affected when the pollen/mold levels are high. Common symptoms include itchy/watery eyes, nasal stuffiness/drainage, scratchy throat, and headaches. If your child suffers from allergy symptoms, please contact your doctor for advice on eye drops, nasal sprays, or an appropriate non-drowsy allergy medication that can be taken before school to provide all day relief from symptoms.
Poison Ivy is everywhere. Contact with the oil from the plant’s leaf causes irritation and a red pimple-like rash. Children should wear appropriate clothing to protect skin exposure to poison ivy, especially in wooded or grassy areas. Showering after being outdoors is also a good practice to prevent irritation. If a skin rash develops, over-the-counter medications such as calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream will provide relief from minor symptoms. When the rash affects the face or eyes, contact your doctor, as a prescription medication may be needed. It is important to remove over-the-head clothing carefully to protect the face and eyes from contact with poison ivy on clothing.
As outdoor evening activities increase, the time of day when mosquitoes are most active, use of bug repellent can help prevent bites. Ticks can be found in the woods, but also in low bushes, grass and on pets. It is a good practice to check children and pets for ticks when they come in from outdoors.
Drinking enough fluids and good nutrition are very important during the warm weather as the body works harder to regulate temperature. Please encourage your child to have a full glass of a beverage, water preferred, with breakfast and to bring a drink for snack and lunch. Sunscreen can be applied in the morning since recess is usually outdoors, weather permitting.
