Principal Message

Dear Fine Families,

It was another great week of teaching and learning as we pushed through to April Break! Our school was filled with energy, focus, and excitement as students continued to grow and engage in meaningful learning experiences.

A special highlight of the week was our Scholastic Book Fair, which was a huge success! Thank you to our fantastic PTO and the many amazing volunteers who helped make this event possible. Your time, effort, and dedication truly make a difference for our students and school community.

As a reminder, there will be no school this week for April Vacation. We hope all of our families enjoy a restful and well-deserved break. School will resume on Monday, April 27th.

When we return, we’ll jump right back into the fun! Registration for our Hawk Hero Fun Run begins on Monday, April 27th. More Fun Run Details to follow!

On Tuesday, April 28th, students are invited to dress like a penguin by wearing black and white as we celebrate ST Math and Jiji’s Birthday.

Looking ahead, the first week of May will be dedicated to celebrating our incredible staff during Teacher Appreciation Week- a wonderful opportunity to recognize all they do for our students each day. We are also excited to share that our 3rd grade performance will take place on May 7th, with more details to follow soon.

We hope our families have a wonderful break filled with rest, relaxation, and time together- ready to return and finish the school year strong!

Suzy Dalessio, Principal

Multicultural Night

Our Multicultural Night was truly a fantastic celebration of the rich diversity within our community! Families came together to share and experience the beauty of different cultures through delicious foods, vibrant music, meaningful traditions, and a variety of languages that filled the space with energy and connection.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families who attended to support the event, and especially to those who volunteered their time and effort to showcase their cultures. Your contributions made the evening both memorable and meaningful for everyone involved.

This special night would not have been possible without the strength, generosity, and spirit of our community. Thank you for coming together to make it such a wonderful success—we are so grateful to be part of such an engaged and supportive community.

Hello Hyman Fine Families,

* The cold weather is upon us- please make sure your child is dressed appropriately (coats, hats, gloves etc.) for the weather. When weather allows, children will go out for recess and brain break.

* Please follow the school’s guidelines of when to keep your child home from school, as this will help to minimize the spread of illness.

School Guidelines are:

A temperature greater than or equal to 100.0

Your child must be fever free for 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medication such as Motrin/ibuprofen or Tylenol/acetaminophen

Your child must be without vomiting for 24 hours.

If your child is placed on antibiotics s/he must complete 24 hours of dosing prior to returning to school.

* Health Screenings (Hearing & Vision) will begin in the Health Office next week and continue until completion. Please make sure your child has their glasses at school.

* If your child is prone to accidents, please keep a change of clothes in their backpacks. Donations of new boys’ and girls’ underwear are always appreciated.

Thank you!

This is a big fundraiser for our school as well as a favorite amongst the kids and staff so please consider helping out. Please reach out with any questions.
