Dear Fine Families,
We were glad to welcome students back today after four snow days, and it was a great day. Students arrived safely, classes were back on schedule, and we appreciated everyone's patience and flexibility following the historic storm.
Please know that before the decision was made to reopen Friday, administrators worked collectively with the Mayor’s office, the Department of Public Works, our transportation provider, and our facilities team to ensure our students could return safely.
We are continuing to monitor conditions and remain flexible. As they did on Friday, the bus company will continue to pick students up at alternative locations and pick up any students walking to school. Please contact my office directly with any questions or concerns.
Due to the current number of snow days had so far, the last day for students in grades 1-4 will now be Friday, June 26th. It will be an early release day and dismissal will begin at 12:25PM.
Get ready—next week is going to be full of excitement, imagination, and lots of great stories as we celebrate Read Across America Week! This special week is all about inspiring a lifelong love of reading and showing students just how fun and powerful books can be. To make the week even more enjoyable, we’ll have a simple theme to go along with each day as we celebrate together. Please see the section below for each day’s theme. We can’t wait to read and celebrate with everyone! March 5th is Kindergarten Information Night for any incoming Kindergarten Families. If you know of any families who may have a student entering Kindergarten next year, please share the information and flyers detailed below. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! ❄️☃️ Cold Weather Reminder |
We go outside every day that the “feels-like” temperature is above 25 degrees, so please be sure to send your student with warm winter coats, hats, gloves or mittens, and appropriate footwear each day. Layering helps in keeping our students comfortable throughout the day!
If your family needs help finding winter gear, just reach out. No one should be cold on our watch! |
A reminder to all families: Every school day matters for student success. While we recognize the value of family time, cultural experiences, and enrichment activities, families are reminded to consider the impact of missed class time. Vacation/extracurricular absences are unexcused and represent learning time that cannot be recovered.
If you have questions about attendance or need support, please reach out. We appreciate your partnership in your child's education. |
