Principal's Message

Hello, Hyman Fine Families!

Just one week until the holiday break! Our staff and students have been very busy digging into new learning as we move ahead into term two. Please note that term one report cards were published in the ASPEN portal this week. Directions on how to access report cards can be found on the district website. I am excited to continue to watch our students learn and grow through the year!

A huge shout out to our PTO for hosting our Holiday Bingo Night last Friday. We had a fantastic turn out and enjoyed spending time with our students and families.

Thank you to our students and families who donated non-perishable food items for our food drive. Items were collected on Friday, December 13 by the Hebron Food Pantry. Watching our students demonstrate kind, charitable, actions such as these has been truly heartwarming and a testament to your generosity and support of our school and community.

Lastly, our fourth graders have been rehearsing for the Holiday Musical. There will be an evening show for grade 4 families on Thursday, December 19th and a show for the student body on Friday, December 20th.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

Recess Ready

As we have mentioned before, it is important to ensure that your students are ready for recess each day. It is helpful to dress in layers and ensure that they have a warm coat as the colder days and winter months approach us. We will have outdoor recess as long as it is not raining and as long as the "feels like" or windchill is at least 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hyman Fine Reference Guide

We have created the A- Z Reference Guide which includes building protocols and procedures for families to note. Please read over this document as it includes pertinent information regarding our building expectations.

Nurse Note

Hello Hyman Fine Families,

* Screenings for Grade 2, 3, & 4 will be in the Health Office on 12/10/24 & 12/12/24. Please make sure your student has their glasses or hearing devices on those days.

With the beautifully colored leaves and cool air come the germs that spread cold/flu/viruses. To combat illnesses, frequent hand washing, keeping hands away from the eyes, nose, and mouth, and receiving vaccines will help. Ways to boost your immune system to help fight off illness are healthy eating, regular exercise, proper sleep, and lowering stress.

Please follow the districts’ guidelines below about when to keep your child home from school, as this will help to minimize the spread of illness.

• A fever of 100.0 Fahrenheit – your child can return to school after they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication to treat or prevent fever.

• Diarrhea – your child can return to school after 24 hours without any episodes of diarrhea.

• Vomiting – your child can return to school after 24 hours from the last episode of vomiting.

• Excessive coughing or wheezing.

 • Illness that requires treatment with an antibiotic – your child should remain home until they have completed 24 hours on prescribed medication. (Examples include but not limited to- strep, impetigo, conjunctivitis)

Additional note:  Please pack a change of clothes in your child's backpack for any unforeseen circumstance
