Dear Hyman Fine Families,
As we enter this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to share how thankful I am for our incredible school community. Each day, our students, families, and staff contribute to making Hyman Fine a warm, welcoming, and joyful place to learn and grow. I am truly grateful for your partnership and support.
Next week will be a short but meaningful week of learning, with school in session only on Monday and Tuesday. Please remember that there will be no school from November 26–28 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope this extended break provides all of our families with time to relax, recharge, and enjoy special moments together.
In honor of the holiday, there will be no News Flash next weekend, so please take note of the important Dates to Remember listed below.
Dates to Remember:
November 25 – PTO Skating Event (details below in the PTO section)
December 2 – PTO Meeting, 6:00 PM
December 5 – Hawk Hero Assembly

Wishing all of our families a warm, restful, and joyful Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!
Warmly, Mrs. Dalessio

Grade 4: Field Trip to Gillette Stadium for STEAM |
|
|
|
Our fourth graders had a fantastic time on their field trip to Gillette Stadium this Thursday! Students spent the day participating in the Patriots Hall of Fame’s popular education program, which offers curriculum-based, grade-level learning experiences with a strong focus on STEM.
During the visit, students worked collaboratively in small groups on real-world projects connected to football, applying skills in science, technology, engineering, and math. They also enjoyed exploring the Patriots Hall of Fame presented by RTX, where they were able to learn more about the team’s history and experience a variety of interactive exhibits.
It was a day full of hands-on learning, teamwork, and excitement—one our students will surely remember!

Kindness Student Spotlight: Readers and Kindness Leaders! |
|
|
This Monday morning, our Readers and Kindness Leaders brought smiles to the entire HFES staff with a thoughtful kindness project. As part of their ongoing mission to spread positivity throughout our school, the group handcrafted beautiful tissue paper flowers and delivered them to staff members to brighten the start of the week.
Their simple yet meaningful gesture was warmly received and served as a wonderful reminder that kindness—no matter how big or small—can make a lasting impact. We are so proud of these students for their creativity, compassion, and commitment to making our school a more joyful place.

Grade 3: Recycling Presentation |
|
|
|
This week, our third graders enjoyed a special visit from two guests from Attleboro City Hall’s Department of Recycling and Rubbish. Students learned all about the recycling process, including which items can be recycled and which should not be. They also had the chance to see real products made from recycled materials, helping them understand how everyday items can be repurposed in meaningful ways.
It was an informative presentation that encouraged our students to think about how they can make a positive impact on our environment.

Opt In or Opt Out to District/School SMS Messaging |
District/School text messages are sent from the short code 989-00. Per CTIA requirements, recipients must be able to opt out of receiving SMS messages by replying "Stop" to that number. This will stop only text messages (calls and emails will continue as usual).
If you previously opted out and would like to start receiving text alerts again, simply send "Start" to 989-00 to be added back into future SMS communications. |

Schools are required to track and monitor attendance closely to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn. When attendance patterns become concerning, we will notify families with a monthly letter. These letters are meant to provide early support and resources to help improve attendance before it becomes a bigger issue.
Please note- if you are taking a family vacation, even if you share your absence reason as such, vacations are not excused absences. However, your early communication allows us to properly record your reason for absence. Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Together, we can help every student succeed by making sure they are at school—on time, every day, ready to learn!
