Happy October Hyman Fine!

The crisp mornings and falling leaves are building some excitement around here! We have lots of fun fall events ahead so please be sure to take a look at our October Calendar and updated save the dates area to find out what's going on this month.

Next week we will have our second PTO meeting on Tuesday, October 7 at 6pm.You can join us in our school library, or virtually. The virtual link will be shared via email and the Rooms App this week!

Wednesday, October 8 is School Picture Day! Bring your fancy outfits and your big smiles!

Thursday, October 9th is our Fall Family Literacy Night hosted by our Title 1 and ELL staff. More information can be found in the flyer below! Don't miss out on a great event!

Friday, October 10th is Silly Sock Day and an Early Release Day. Wear your silly socks to school! Please remember that students will be dismissed at 12:25pm. No lunch is served on early release days, please send your child to school with a snack.

Today was a super exciting day at Hyman Fine- our first HAWK HERO ASSEMBLY of the year! We had a blast laughing and learning about our AMAZING SCHOOL COMMUNITY. We even had a special visit from FLASH himself! We collected all of the Hawk Hero tickets students have been receiving for their Positive School Behavior, weighed the amount and EXCEEDED our four-pound goal. All of our students earned an extra recess to be had at their teacher's discretion. Take a look at some of the photos from this morning!

Lastly, I launched my Positive Principal Phone Calls home with my first three students showcased below! I am so excited to celebrate more of our amazing students!

Positive Principal Shout Out!

Congratulations to our first three recipients of the Positive Principal Shout Outs! This is one of my favorite opportunities, being able to recognize students for their Hawk Hero behaviors alongside their families. Making these calls truly makes my day! I am proud to be your principal!

Congratulations to Cora D. (3)- thank you for including others with kindness and empathy, Gerrardo H (3)- thank you for helping a friend in need, and Gabby D. (4)- thank you for caring and tending to kindergarten friends.

Way to go Hawk Heroes!

Attendance Matters

attendance

Good attendance helps children build strong learning habits, stay connected with their teachers, and succeed in school. Even missing just one or two days every few weeks can make it harder for students to keep up.

Schools are required to track and monitor attendance closely to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn. When attendance patterns become concerning, we will notify families with a monthly letter. These letters are meant to provide early support and resources to help improve attendance before it becomes a bigger issue.

Together, we can help every student succeed by making sure they are at school—on time, every day, ready to learn!

School Council

I am looking to get our School Council up and running this fall. The team consists of equal representation of staff and families/community members. The team works together to develop our School Improvement plan. We would meet five times throughout the school year. The team will meet on Tuesdays at 5pm, typically before a scheduled PTO meeting. If you are looking to be a part of our School Council, please email me at sdalessio@attleboroschools.com

Fall Family Literacy Night

Please save the date for our Fine Fall Family Literacy Night on Thursday, October 9th! The event will be from 5:30-7:00pm and families can come and go as their schedule allows. You'll receive a paper invitation in a couple weeks and it's helpful to RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

If you plan to dismiss your student from school, please send a handwritten note, or call our main office to ensure communication is received well in advance.
