Message From the Principal

Good evening Fine Families-

It was a short week, but a very busy one to say the least! Our students and staff continue to amaze me with their hard work and dedication to making Hyman Fine such a special place to learn and grow. This week, I had the joy of visiting classrooms filled with eager readers, writers, and mathematicians, each excited to share their learning with me.

I also had the opportunity to meet with our teachers to discuss students’ fall data. I always enjoy these conversations, learning where our students are at the start of the year and hearing the thoughtful ways our teachers plan to support growth for every learner. We talked about interventions, extensions, and ways to challenge student thinking. I’m truly looking forward to seeing these plans come to life and watching the incredible progress our students will make throughout the year.

Speaking of student learning and progress... Fall Family–Teacher Conferences are just around the corner! This year, we’re excited to use Sign Up Genius to help families schedule conference times. Please visit our Hyman Fine Conference Portal to select your preferred time to meet with your child’s teacher. Conferences are a wonderful opportunity for families and teachers to connect, celebrate student successes, and discuss goals for the months ahead.

We kindly ask families to arrive on time, as conference times are brief and teachers have many families to meet with. If you have multiple conferences, please consider leaving a little time between appointments to travel between classrooms. Your cooperation helps us ensure that all families have the opportunity for meaningful conversations.

If your family is in need of translation services to support your conference, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher so that we can do our best to make the necessary arrangements.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support

Mrs. Dalessio, Principal

Trunk or Treat Event

Tonight's Trunk or Treat Event was a HUGE success! Thank you to our incredible PTO and to all of the families and staff who volunteered, donated candy, decorated trunks and came out to support a great event! I am so lucky to be a part of this community. Events like these really make Hyman Fine a special school! Thank you again and I hope everyone had fun! - I hope to share some pictures soon!

Attleboro Public Library:

Community Read Passport

Be on the lookout for the Attleboro Public Library Community Read Passport coming home in your child’s backpack. Students can use these passports to collect stamps at the various community reading events held throughout the school year. Once the passports are filled, they can bring them to school or to the public library to receive special recognition at the summer reading kick-off in June.  All events will be listed on the calendar at attleborolibrary.org. The first event is on Monday, Oct 20 @6:30 pm at the Attleboro Public Library.

Attendance Matters

Schools are required to track and monitor attendance closely to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn. When attendance patterns become concerning, we will notify families with a monthly letter. These letters are meant to provide early support and resources to help improve attendance before it becomes a bigger issue.

Please note- if you are taking a family vacation, even if you share your absence reason as such, vacations are not excused absences. However, your early communication allows us to record your reason for absence as such. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Together, we can help every student succeed by making sure they are at school—on time, every day, ready to learn!

School Council

Thank you to the families and staff who have committed to being a part of this year's school council. Our first meeting will be held virtually on October 21st at 5pm. Meeting details will be sent to School Council members via email.

Fall Spirit Day- Oct 31

We welcome students to wear costumes on our Fall Spirit Day, Friday, October 31. Please remember that costumes need to be put on at home and need to be easy to walk in and sit in, to participate in regular expectations of the day. No gore, masks, makeup or props should be brought in to school (please keep items like wands, swards, brooms etc. at home).

If you would prefer- we also welcome wearing Hyman Fine Gear or Fall Colors if you choose to participate in a different way!

As a reminder- spirit days are not required, and students are not expected to participate, but we welcome anyone who'd like to join the fun!
