Principal's Message

Hello Fine Families!

This week our teachers participated in an Undercover Spirit Week. It was fun to watch as the week went on and students started to take notice and wonder why so many of us had been dressing alike throughout the week. We wore, black on Monday, sports attire on Tuesday, flannel on Wednesday, hats and headbands on Thursday, and workout gear on Friday. Enjoy some staff photos below.

Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Don't forget to take a look at the PTO section towards the bottom of our Newsletter. There are important updates to check out like the TV Superbowl Raffle. Tickets went home with students this week. Each ticket is $2. Please remember that tickets and money are due by Friday, February 7.

The PTO is also beginning to put together the 4th grade yearbook and are looking for photos. Details can be found in the PTO section for more details on what photos are needed and where they can be sent.

Student Council Animal Shelter Donation

animal

Please remember that this month, student council is collecting items to donate to a local animal shelter.

Attendance Matters

Your student's attendance is very important. The more time spent in school learning, the more academic progress and success students can make. Not to mention, it's fun to be with friends, learning, growing and playing together. Building good habits and routines for coming to school will help create a solid foundation for your students educational journey.

It is important to note that students are deemed Chronically Absent by the state when they reach 18 days out of school in a year. This includes both excused and unexcused days as it tallies the total number of days a student is out of school. It is still important to communicate reasons for absences, so please continue submitting doctors' notes when applicable. Communication from families helps us have a better understanding of absences and allows us to better support students and families. We will continue to communicate with families any updates regarding our attendance records and we appreciate your continued support.

High School Events

Attleboro Families:

Attleboro High School greatly appreciates the support of families at all AHS sporting events.   While most students are there to watch the games and enjoy the event, a number of students have been left/dropped off unsupervised. This has created safety concerns and disruptions for other fans in attendance and game management staff.

Moving forward, ALL middle school aged students and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult at all high school events.  We appreciate your support keeping all in attendance supervised while allowing an enjoyable environment for all.

Please know this expectation is currently in place for AHS events moving forward.

We look forward to seeing you all soon and thank you for supporting AHS!

Thank you.

Recess Ready

As we have mentioned before, it is important to ensure that your students are ready for recess each day. It is helpful to dress in layers and ensure that they have a warm coat as the colder days and winter months approach us. We will have outdoor recess as long as it is not raining and as long as the "feels like" or windchill is at least 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
