Message From the Principal

Happy Friday Fine Families & Happy Long Weekend :)

Today we had our second fire evacuation. We did such a phenomenal job exiting the building quickly, quietly and efficiently. I was so impressed with our students and staff.

The weather is getting chillier these days- adding another layer to your student's wardrobe would be very helpful as we begin to transition. Remember to dress students appropriately for these cooler days as we do go out to recess every day, weather permitting!

Please remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 13- School will resume on Tuesday, October 14.

Our PTO is still collecting candy for our upcoming Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 17. We hope to see you there!

Last night we had a great turn out to our Fall Family Literacy Night! Thank you to all of our incredible staff who helped to organize such a fun opportunity for our students and families. We enjoyed watching families play games together, read lyrics for karaoke, and get their faces painted by our fabulous teachers with hidden talents! We hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Please check out some photos of the event below.

Attendance Matters

Good attendance helps children build strong learning habits, stay connected with their teachers, and succeed in school. Even missing just one or two days every few weeks can make it harder for students to keep up.

Schools are required to track and monitor attendance closely to ensure every child has the best opportunity to learn. When attendance patterns become concerning, we will notify families with a monthly letter. These letters are meant to provide early support and resources to help improve attendance before it becomes a bigger issue.

Together, we can help every student succeed by making sure they are at school—on time, every day, ready to learn!

School Council

Thank you to the families and staff who have committed to being a part of this year's school council. Our first meeting will be held virtually on October 21st at 5pm. Meeting details will be sent to School Council members via email.

Fall Spirit Day- Oct 31

We welcome students to wear costumes on our Fall Spirit Day, Friday, October 31. Please remember that costumes need to be put on at home and need to be easy to walk in and sit in, to participate in regular expectations of the day. No gore, masks, makeup or props should be brought in to school (please keep items like wands, swards, brooms etc. at home).

If you would prefer- we also welcome wearing Hyman Fine Gear or Fall Colors if you choose to participate in a different way!

As a reminder- spirit days are not required, and students are not expected to participate, but we welcome anyone who'd like to join the fun!

If your child will be absent, please be sure to call our main office the morning of your child's absence. If you plan to dismiss your student from school, please send a handwritten note, or call our main office to ensure communication is received well in advance.
