Principal's Message

Hello and Happy March Fine Families!

What another great week here at our school. We were so excited to welcome back our students and staff and prepare for the next few weeks of learning until our next vacation.

This week, our PTO hosted their Scholastic Book Fair. Students had a fun time shopping for new books to read. It is always so fun to help and encourage readers and our Scholastic Book Fair is just another way to foster this joy of owning books and a passion for reading in our students.

On Tuesday, February 25th we hosted, Li Liu, a Chinese Acrobat. Please check out a few pictures below from this week's performance.

Multicultural Night was another HUGE success this week. It was so great to see so many of our students and families sharing and experiencing lots of wonderful things about their heritage. As someone who experienced this event for the first time this year, I can truly say I was in awe of all of the presentations and information shared by our families and the turnout of families who came to enjoy the event was incredible. Thank you to our Music Teacher, Mrs. Bedrosian, and Art Teacher, Mrs. Lemieux who spear headed and organized such a great event! An again much appreciation to the staff, families, and volunteers who make this event possible.

Please note that next week we begin our READ ACROSS AMERICA spirit week. Be sure to check out the details down below about what your student can wear to school each day if they choose to participate! Students in grade 2 will be visiting the Attleboro Public Library on March 4th and 5th.

On Thursday, March 6 we will be hosting a Kindergarten Information Night regarding registration for any students/families who will be registering for kindergarten for next year (2025-2026). If you or someone you know has an incoming Kindergartener, please share this event. More details can be found below.

The PTO is collecting all dance reservations until March 7. Please note that tickets to the dance will not be sold at the door so please see the details below regarding the School Dance if you would like to RSVP.

Recess Ready

As we have mentioned before, it is important to ensure that your students are ready for recess each day. It is helpful to dress in layers and ensure that they have a warm coat as the colder days and winter months approach us. We will have outdoor recess as long as it is not raining and as long as the "feels like" or windchill is at least 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

Reminder

Attendance Matters

Your student's attendance is very important. The more time spent in school learning, the more academic progress and success students can make. Not to mention, it's fun to be with friends, learning, growing and playing together. Building good habits and routines for coming to school will help create a solid foundation for your students educational journey.

It is important to note that students are deemed Chronically Absent by the state when they reach 18 days out of school in a year. This includes both excused and unexcused days as it tallies the total number of days a student is out of school. It is still important to communicate reasons for absences, so please continue submitting doctors' notes when applicable. Communication from families helps us have a better understanding of absences and allows us to better support students and families. We will continue to communicate with families any updates regarding our attendance records and we appreciate your continued support.

nurse

Hello Hyman Fine Families,

It is that time of year where we typically see an increase in illness, and we would like to take an opportunity to remind parent/guardians of the importance of having up-to-date contact information at the school for us to reach you in a time of need.  in addition, we are asking that you have additional emergency contacts that are available to pick up the child if needed.

If the nurse calls for the student's dismissal, it is standard practice for the dismissal to occur within the hour.  Thank you in advance for your support so we can continue to provide the best care for all students.

Cold and flu season is upon us. In the graphic below you will find helpful tips and guidelines for addressing illness symptoms. When to send your child to school, keep them home, or even seek medical attention.

Additional note:  Please pack a change of clothes in your child's backpack for any unforeseen circumstance
