Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
We hope you had a wonderful April Break and were able to enjoy some time together as a family!
Thank you to all who joined us for our Kindergarten Literacy Night before break—over 30 families attended, and it was a great opportunity for students to enjoy a shared story while families observed reading strategies in action. We appreciate your continued partnership in supporting our young readers and writers.
We have many exciting events coming up! Join us on April 30 from 6:00–8:00 PM for our Book Fair & Art Show, a special evening celebrating both literacy and student creativity. Students will also have additional opportunities to explore and enjoy new books during the Book Fair the following week as part of their regularly scheduled Library special.
We’re also excited to partner with the Attleboro Historical Preservation Society for an upcoming community walking tour in South Attleboro. This event will highlight local history, including the early schoolhouse at Hill-Roberts, Attleboro Village, and the area’s development over time—a great opportunity for families to connect with our community’s past.
A quick reminder to please check our Lost and Found—there are over 50 hoodies and jackets currently waiting to be claimed!
Be sure to take a look at the updated May–June newsletter from Project Connect for helpful family resources. Finally, our PTO is gearing up for the Book Fair and Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (May 4–8); we’re grateful for their continued support in making these events so special for our school community.
We’re looking forward to a wonderful and busy spring ahead!
Dr. Paul Madden Principal

Optional - HRES Class Placement Information |
First Posted: March 29, 2026 |
Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
As we continue this school year, we’re also planning for next year—especially class placements. This process is complex, and we take great care to create balanced classrooms where every child can thrive.
When forming class lists, we consider many factors, including academic, social, and behavioral needs, student relationships, special services (e.g., Special Education, MLL, Title 1), learning styles, and gender balance. While we cannot honor specific teacher requests, rest assured that every Hill-Roberts teacher is committed to your child’s success.
If you have important information to share about your child’s placement (current grades K-3 only), please complete the HRES Student Placement Family Input Form for 26-27 by Thursday, April 30, 2026. This form is optional, and late submissions may not be considered.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us create a great learning environment for all students!
Dr. Paul Madden, Principal

Lost and Found (4-24-2026) - Overflowing with Hoodies and Jackets! |
|
|
We have two full racks worth of hoodies and jackets in our lost and found. If you are missing one or more items, please have your child check out our lost and found in the morning before breakfast.
We also currently have 8 pairs of glasses in our main office lost and found.
Please put your child's name or initials on the tag of their hoodies/jackets. Dr. Madden personally searched all the tags of the 50+ hoodies/jackets in the lost and found and only found two jackets with any students information within them. Help us, help you!

Welcome Center Weekly Spotlight
Developed in Collaboration with the Attleboro Family & Community Partnership (AFCP)
Reminder for All Families:
Every school day matters for student success. Research shows that regular attendance supports confidence, reduces stress, and builds strong habits for the future. While we recognize the value of family time and enrichment activities, families are reminded to consider the impact of any missed class time. Vacation/extracurricular absences are unexcused and represent learning time that cannot be recovered. We look forward to seeing all students as we return to school next Monday, April 27, 2025!
