Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
As we head into the final week before Spring Break, there is a special kind of energy in the building. With warmer weather on the way and the promise of a well-deserved break ahead, our students and staff continue to show their commitment to learning, kindness, and community each and every day.
This past Friday, we gathered for our CREST Assembly, led by Mrs. Cameron (our Head Teacher, also known as an, Instructional Coach). It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate 19 new Golden Huskies who exemplify excellence both academically and as positive members of our classrooms and broader school community. While Dr. Madden needed to be home caring for his son, he looks forward to recognizing these outstanding students at the Golden Husky Principal Breakfast on Monday morning.
We were also treated to a special performance by our third grade students. Under the direction of Mrs. Torres, they sang Make a Difference, an honor they earned by demonstrating the most excellence during Music class this past month. It was a close and spirited effort, with Grade 4 finishing in second place and Grade 2 in third—something all of our students should be proud of!
As we approach Spring Break, I want to thank our entire school community—students, staff, and families—for the care, effort, and positivity you bring into our school each day. Schools are strongest when we work together with a shared focus on supporting every child, and I am grateful for the partnership we continue to build.
A quick reminder that Friday will be a half day, with dismissal at 12:25 PM.
When we return from break, we will jump right into some exciting events, including our Spring Book Fair and Art Show beginning on April 30. This is always a highlight of the season, and we look forward to seeing many of you there. Be sure to check the PTO section below for volunteer opportunities and additional details.
Upcoming Events:
April 15 – PTO FUNdraising at LAUNCH
April 16 (K only) – Kindergarten Literacy Night, 6:00–7:00 PM
April 30 – Book Fair & Art Show, 6:00–8:00 PM
May 14 (Grade 4 only) – Spring Concert, 6:30–7:15 PM (doors open at 6:00 PM)
Wishing all of our families a restful, safe, and enjoyable Spring Break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a strong finish to the school year. No Howler until 4/24.
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Madden Principal
Ms. Julie O’Boyle Assistant Principal

Optional - HRES Class Placement Information |
First Posted: March 29, 2026 |
Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
As we continue this school year, we’re also planning for next year—especially class placements. This process is complex, and we take great care to create balanced classrooms where every child can thrive.
When forming class lists, we consider many factors, including academic, social, and behavioral needs, student relationships, special services (e.g., Special Education, MLL, Title 1), learning styles, and gender balance. While we cannot honor specific teacher requests, rest assured that every Hill-Roberts teacher is committed to your child’s success.
If you have important information to share about your child’s placement (current grades K-3 only), please complete the HRES Student Placement Family Input Form for 26-27 by Thursday, April 30, 2026. This form is optional, and late submissions may not be considered.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us create a great learning environment for all students!
Dr. Paul Madden, Principal
Ms. Julie O’Boyle, Assistant Principal
