Dear Families,
One more week before February break! While it will still be a full week of learning next week, we will be making the most of the mid-Winter festiveness by celebrating 100 days of learning, centering care and kindness, and recognizing those who inspire us to love ourselves.
In addition, to make up for the snow day, we will be extending our Dino-Mite Book Fair by one day! Many thanks to the tireless Dr. Dimond, our incredible PTO, and our generous family volunteers! Thank you for feeding our students' Dino-sized appetites for reading!
Just a reminder that Friday is an early release day (12:25PM) for our students.
Please check out several important updates/reminders below, especially from our PTO. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Madden, Principal
Ms. Julie O'Boyle, Assistant Principal
Just a reminder about the District's food policy: no food or candy items are allowed to be sent to be shared with classmates. However, pencils, stickers, and cards are all perfectly fine to send in if you choose! All food or candy items brought in will be returned home. Thank you for doing your part to protect students with, known and unknown, food allergens.

Please complete and send in all 3 swim forms by Tuesday. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our main office. Thank you!
Each year, students in grades 3-12 participate in a survey as part of Attleboro's involvement in the Massachusetts Consortium for Innovative Education Assessment (MCIEA) which aims to help schools and the community measure school quality outside of simply relying on MCAS data. Our third and fourth grade students will be participating in this year's survey between now and February break. The survey takes approximately 15-30 minutes and is done during class. If you would like to see the results of previous surveys/questions, please visit the MCIEA School Quality Measures Dashboard.
Please double check that all snacks that are eaten in the classroom are peanut & tree nut free, this includes Nutella and other granola bars that may contain nuts for the protein/ low carb. Many manufacturers are moving toward more natural/ whole foods in nutrition bars and are using nuts as a way to do this. If you do include a product for lunch that may contain nuts/ tree nuts, please review it with your student that is to be eaten in the cafeteria only. Sometimes kids see a choice in their lunch and may choose the nut based snack to eat in the classroom.
I am looking for clothing donations: I am running desperately low on size 7/8 pants. I have 2 pair of girl’s pants left. If you have any pants or pajama bottoms that your student no longer wears, I would gladly accept any donations. I am also very low on boy’s size 6 pants as well. I have plenty of girl’s pants. If you are unable to donate clothes, could you please send a change in for your student to keep in their cubby or backpack in case it might be needed. Students may need a change of clothes for numerous reasons including milk/ food spills on their clothes, or they fall onto wet/ snowy ground and get soaked as well as bathroom accidents.
Lastly, I am mostly done with the state mandated Vision, Hearing, Height and Weight screenings for grades 1-4. I will start working on Kindergarten when we return from Feb vacation. Kindergarten will include Near (reading) vision and Hearing screens. Distance vision was done in October by the Lion’s club. As always, if you do not want your student to participate in these screenings, please send a note to the school nurse.

Please avoid dismissing your students after 3pm. While sometimes this is unavoidable, we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring our attention is focused on safely and efficiently dismissing our 425 plus students. Thank you!
Please keep the area below (note: yellow tape and signage) clear for our busses. This is critical for allowing safe passage of busses. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Attleboro Families,
Attleboro High School greatly appreciates the support of families at all AHS sporting events. While most students are there to watch the games and enjoy the event, a number of students have been left/dropped off unsupervised. This has created safety concerns and disruptions for other fans in attendance and game management staff.
Moving forward, ALL middle school aged students and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult at all high school events. We appreciate your support keeping all in attendance supervised while allowing an enjoyable environment for all.
Please know this expectation is currently in place for AHS events moving forward.
We look forward to seeing you all soon and thank you for supporting AHS!
Thank you.
Kate Campbell- AHS Principal
Mark Houle - AHS Athletic Director

Due to Thursdays snow day, the book fair was open for student shopping Friday February 7th and will be as well on Monday morning, Feb. 10th. It's not too late to set up an eWallet for your student! Also, the schedule change means we still need volunteers for Monday. Please help if you can so we can make sure that everyone can successfully shop the fair.
