Dear Families,

It was so great seeing so many of you at the Howliday Fair this Saturday! From what I hear the 4th graders performance on Friday was spectacular! A huge thank you to the PTO, in particular, Dr. Dimond who does such an amazing job preparing for, organizing, and managing the event. Also, weren't the middle school, Junior National Honor Society candidates from Coelho great? What fun!

Short update this week, but keep in mind report cards will be published this upcoming Wednesday around 3pm.

For now, please check out several important updates about our Giving Tree, our Food Drive, and Computer Science week. In addition, please review important guidance from our School Nurse.

School and Illness: When Your Child Should Stay Home

When your child is sick, it is important to know when they should stay home from school.  Your child should not go to school if they have:

• A fever of 100.0 Fahrenheit  or greater– your child can return to school after they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication to treat or prevent fever.

• Diarrhea – your child can return to school after 24 hours without any episodes of diarrhea.

• Vomiting – your child can return to school after 24 hours from the last episode of vomiting.

• Excessive coughing or wheezing

• Illness that requires treatment with an antibiotic – your child should remain home until they have completed 24 hours on prescribed medication. (Examples include but not limited to- strep, impetigo, conjunctivitis)

School can be a long and demanding day especially after an illness. Your child should be eating and sleeping normally after an illness before returning to school.

Join us with your questions and/or ideas for a discussion about disciplining children with respect, connection, and love. Ms. Beatrice will facilitate this workshop with a respectful parenting perspective that prioritizes teaching behavior skills, strong parent-child connections, and the emotional wellbeing of parents & children.
