Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
We’re thrilled to share that Hill-Roberts has been recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as one of only 92 schools statewide to outperform our pre-pandemic achievement levels—marking the highest performance in our school’s history! In connection with this recognition, a few of us had the privilege of representing Hill-Roberts at the DESE Celebrating Academic Success Conference to share the work happening in our school. This opportunity was made possible by the commitment of our entire school community—students, staff, and families alike.
Last weekend’s Howliday Fair was a perfect example of that community spirit. A huge thank-you to our PTO for organizing such a joyful event and to Dr. Dimond, whose leadership helped make the fair one of our best yet. We are also so proud of our Grade 4 Chorus, who performed beautifully—thank you to Mrs. Torres for preparing our students so well. It was wonderful to see our school come together in celebration of talent, connection, and holiday cheer.
Finally, a reminder that Report Cards will be published on December 10th. If you need assistance accessing your child’s report card, please reach out to our main office.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for everything you do to support the Hill-Roberts community.
Warmly,
Dr. Paul Madden, Principal
Ms. Julie O’Boyle, Assistant Principal

Dismissal Updates/ Reminders |
Pick-Up / Drop-Off Changes Postponed |
We are pausing any changes to our pick-up and drop-off routines for now to ensure a smooth and well-organized rollout, whether that occurs later this spring or in fall 2026. While updates are being planned, the timing depends on redistricting and necessary road layout changes. We want to make sure we are in the best position to communicate and implement any new plan effectively. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns. |
Early Pick-Up Cutoff Time (3pm) |
To help ensure a safe and orderly end to the school day, we cannot process early dismissals after 3:00 PM. If your child needs to leave early, please plan to pick them up before that time. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding! |
Tardy Policy Reminder (After 8:45am) |
Students arriving after 8:45 AM are marked tardy. Being on time helps them settle in, hear morning announcements, and begin learning with their classmates. We appreciate your support in making timely arrival a priority!
If your child arrives after 8:45 AM, please remember that an adult must sign them in at the office. At that time, the side walker door is closed, so all students should enter through the main entrance. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and smooth start to the day!

December Schedule Reminder |
A quick reminder that there are no half-days or days off in December—classes will follow our regular schedule right up until Winter Break. Thank you for helping ensure strong attendance as we finish the calendar year together! |

Outdoor Recess Guidelines - Feels like 25 degrees and above |
We aim to have outdoor recess any day that it is not actively raining, recess equipment is adequately clear of snow/ ice, and the "feels like" temperature is above 25 degrees (F).
Now that we are getting colder weather, be sure to (re)label your students' gloves, hats, and jackets. As you know, dressing in layers is great, but it does mean there is more for your students' to lose. Help us, help you by labeling your students' clothes :).

Mandated Vision and Hearing Screenings are continuing. Please make sure your child has their glasses with them every day, as I do 3 different vision screens on them, including distance vision with each eye, near/ reading vision with both eyes together and stereopsis (3D vision). Hearing is also done. If you do not want your child to participate in these screenings, please send in a note with them or send an email to the nurse. Referrals for a failed screening will be sent home with your child within a day or two of their screening.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
