Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
What a wonderful week at Hill-Roberts! Thank you for your incredible support and partnership as we wrapped up Parent-Teacher Conferences. We were thrilled to see well over 80% of our families attend, which speaks volumes about your commitment to your children’s learning and our school community.
A big thank you to our amazing PTO for their continued support, especially for last week’s Race for Education and the thoughtful “Conferences Charcuterie” they provided for our staff. Your generosity and creativity make such a difference for everyone here.
This week, we celebrated our Golden Huskies at the PTO-sponsored Golden Husky Principal Breakfast on Monday. We’ve included some great photos in this newsletter—be sure to check them out! We’re also excited to recognize our Reading Patch Winners for October, who met their Accelerated Reader goals for September and October. Our Reading Patch program continues to grow as we honor students’ reading achievements while recognizing the varying levels of challenge in the books they choose.
Looking ahead, Thursday is World Kindness Day. We invite all students and staff to wear Teal or Husky gear as we celebrate the power of kindness together.
Finally, don’t miss the important updates from our School Nurse and PTO below.
Thank you for all you do to make our school such a caring and connected community.
Sincerely, Dr. Paul Madden, Principal Ms. Julie O’Boyle, Assistant Principal

Outdoor Recess Guidelines - Feels like 25 degrees and above
|
We aim to have outdoor recess any day that it is not actively raining, recess equipment is adequately clear of snow/ ice, and the "feels like" temperature is above 25 degrees (F).
Now that we are getting colder weather, be sure to (re)label your students' gloves, hats, and jackets. As you know, dressing in layers is great, but it does mean there is more for your students' to lose. Help us, help you by labeling your students' clothes :).

Vision Screening Update - Most of 4th grade Vision screening have been completed and I will be moving onto 3rd grade Vision and Hearing screenings next week. If your student wears or should be wearing glasses, please make sure they have their glasses in school with them every day. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the mandated screenings, please send a note to the nurse stating so.
Kindergarten and 1st grade parents: Please make sure your student has a change of clothes in their backpack, not just for bathroom accidents, lunch spills also happen that require a change of clothes. If your student does have a change of clothes, please make sure they are appropriate for the colder weather, some may still have shorts in their back up clothes.
Pants Donations? - If you happen to have any pants that your child has grown out of, I am running quite low on all sizes. I would gladly accept any donations, looking for sizes 6-16. I could also use shirts in those sizes as well.
