Dear Hill-Roberts Families,
What an incredible start to the Thanksgiving Season here at Hill-Roberts! Our Third Annual Community Potluck was a tremendous success, with 24 staff members and 114 members of the Hill-Roberts community coming together for an evening filled with delicious food, warm conversation, and wonderful memories. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who prepared and shared dishes—including our amazing students and families who always bring such generosity to our school events. We are especially grateful to Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. Torres, Ms. Larkin, and Ms. Jennewein for their outstanding leadership and coordination in making this celebration so special.
As we head deeper into November, we are excited to kick off our HRES Food Drive, running from Monday, 11/17 through Tuesday, 12/10. Donations will support both our own school Food Pantry and St. Theresa’s Food Pantry, helping local families through the holiday season. Thank you in advance for your kindness and support.
A quick reminder that Picture Retake Day is this Thursday for any students who were absent or would like a new photo.
Looking ahead, our PTO is gearing up for the always-popular Hunter Husky’s Howliday Shop, taking place December 5–6. Students will have the opportunity to browse and purchase small gifts for loved ones—an experience they truly enjoy each year. More details will be shared soon!
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. Hill-Roberts is a special place because of the amazing families and community we share.
Sincerely, Dr. Paul Madden, Principal Ms. Julie O’Boyle, Assistant Principal

World Kindness Day at HRES |
|
|
|
At Hill-Roberts Kindness is kin to Caring, which is the Captain of CREST. We were proud to have our students create a chain of past or future kind actions. Kindness can change the world. Teal links were used in honor of our former student, Olivia Knighton, who embodied kindness. |

Outdoor Recess Guidelines - Feels like 25 degrees and above |
We aim to have outdoor recess any day that it is not actively raining, recess equipment is adequately clear of snow/ ice, and the "feels like" temperature is above 25 degrees (F).
Now that we are getting colder weather, be sure to (re)label your students' gloves, hats, and jackets. As you know, dressing in layers is great, but it does mean there is more for your students' to lose. Help us, help you by labeling your students' clothes :).

Vision Screening Update - If your student wears or should be wearing glasses, please make sure they have their glasses in school with them every day. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the mandated screenings, please send a note to the nurse stating so.
Kindergarten and 1st grade parents: Please make sure your student has a change of clothes in their backpack, not just for bathroom accidents, lunch spills also happen that require a change of clothes. If your student does have a change of clothes, please make sure they are appropriate for the colder weather, some may still have shorts in their back up clothes.
Pants Donations? - If you happen to have any pants that your child has grown out of, I am running quite low on all sizes. I would gladly accept any donations, looking for sizes 6-16. I could also use shirts in those sizes as well.
