Dear Families,

Race for Ed was a blast! The weather was beautiful and the students loved having a big audience of families to cheer them on! A big thank you to everyone who already donated, those who attended, and of course our PTO, in particular, Tracy Gardner, the PTO's Fundraising Coordinator for making this a great event!

Since we are almost at our goal, the PTO is extending donations to Tuesday! We are 94% of the way there (1,200 left to go). If you can help get some more donations in, it would go a long way in supporting our school improvement efforts and field trips! Here is the link: https://grouprev.com/hillroberts2024

Otherwise, please check out our Fall Spirit Week Flier, Updates about High School Events, our growing lost and found (haha), and several important PTO updates.

Sincerely,

Dr. Paul Madden, Principal

Ms. Julie O'Boyle, Assistant Principal

Tip of the Week - Get Outside!

Race for Ed reminded all of us how important it is for students to get time outside being active with their peers! There are so many benefits: sunshine/vitamin D, exercise, executive functioning, building confidence, socialization, and an appreciation of nature. Want to read more? Check this out: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/6-reasons-children-need-to-play-outside-2018052213880\

It can be low key or a hiking adventure! Check out the Hike Attleboro website for some ideas!

Fee for Service Payment Reminder

The deadline for Fee for Service Transportation payment is November 15, 2024. Invoices were mailed to families the first week of October. IMPORTANT: DO NOT SUBMIT A PAYMENT IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE AN INVOICE. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your invoice, please contact the APS Transportation Department: transportation@attleboroschools.com

ALL middle and elementary (K-8) school-aged students and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult at all high school events.

Attleboro High School greatly appreciates the support of families at all AHS sporting events.  Recently, a large number of middle school and some elementary students have attended AHS athletic events (football/volleyball) games without parental supervision.  While the majority of students are there to watch the games and enjoy the event, a number of students have been left/dropped off unsupervised. This has created safety concerns and disruptions for other fans in attendance.

Moving forward, ALL middle school aged students and younger MUST be accompanied by an adult at all high school events.  We appreciate your support keeping all in attendance supervised while allowing an enjoyable environment for all.

Please know this expectation is currently in place for AHS events moving forward.

We look forward to seeing you all soon.

Fall Spirit Days

Note: If your student wishes to not participate in the CREST Costume Parade, they can participate in Fall Fest in the gym with Ms. Larkin, Ms. Jennewein, Mrs. Cusack, and Mr. Sabatino. For those participating in costume wearing on 10/31/2023, your students are invited to celebrate by wearing any of the following:

  • Husky Gear

  • Fall-themed colors

  • Dress up as their favorite book

  • Wear a costume, but your student:

    • must put it on at home, not at school

    • must be able to walk in it

    • must be able to go to the bathroom in it

    • must wear a costume with no gore, no weapons, no masks, and no make-up.

Reminder - Pick-Up, Parking Update - November 1 Change

For families who drop off/pick up, starting in November, there will be an update to our parking policy on Roy Ave. In anticipation of winter weather, bus safety, and emerging safety concerns for walkers crossing the street, families will not be allowed to park beyond the entrance of the drop off/pick up (side) parking lot starting November 1. This will mean that families will either need to park further down Roy Ave. This will also be announced to families next week during walker pick up in the afternoon. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance.
