Heads Up - Valentine’s Day Celebrations

We will be enjoying several fun, themed days during the week of 2/14 (more details coming soon!). As a reminder of the District’s food policy, please do not send in food or candy to be shared with classmates. Non-food items such as pencils, stickers, and cards are welcome if you choose to participate. Please be sure that every child receives an item, and that items are labeled only with “from: (your child)."

Keeping Your Student Healthy and In School

A regular attendance routine is important for your child’s well-being, learning, and long-term success. Below are some tips on keeping your student healthy and guidance for going to school.

Nurse Office Note

I am mostly done with Vision and Hearing screenings for grades 1-4 and will be starting on Kindergarten screenings next week. Kindergarten screenings include near vision and hearing. Distance vision was done by the Lion’s Club in October. If your student was absent on that day, I will also be including distance vision and stereopsis.  You may opt out of any or all screenings by sending in a note with your student or informing me by email.  Please make sure your children are bringing their glasses with them every day.

If your student received a note suggesting follow up for vision or hearing, please make those appointments promptly. Poor vision or hearing can have a definite impact on your students learning.  Please send the referral letters back to the nurse after their appointment with any recommendations.  I do use the returned referrals to track the effectiveness of our screening program.
