First Full Week is in the Books!

The week flew by! Students are settling into their classroom routines and are busy making new friends. Please remember to label all waterbottles and lunch boxes along with clothing items. We are seeing many of the same waterbottles and have a hard time figuring out whose its whose when they move about the room.

Please remember that James Street becomes a one-way street once you hit our parking lot. We are seeing too many parents driving the opposite way and this is causing a safety concern.

Emergency forms are due ASAP. If you check off Do Not Publish then you will not see your child in the newsletter or in the yearbook at the end of the year. We will be posting all September birthday pictures next week!

Thank you to our volunteers who helped out the PTO this week at the book fair! It was much appreciated! Hope everyone got some great books to read at home!

Vision Screenings

The Lion's Club will be here on Monday and Tuesday to conduct annual vision screenings for Pre-school and Kindergarten students in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) regulation 105 CMR 200.400.

The vision screening is done using a SPOT Vision Screener. SPOT is a handheld screener that quickly detects a variety of vision problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.  It can also detect unequal vision power (anisometropia), eye misalignment (amblyopia), unequal pupil size (anisocoria), and eye structure problems.

If your child's vision refers, you will be sent home a copy of the screening and a referral letter for a follow up comprehensive vision test.
