Dear ELC Families,
Next Thursday, December 11th, there will be no school as we will be holding parent conferences, and we look forward to seeing you! Our food drive is still underway, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all who have donated, your generosity means so much during a time that is challenging for many, and the community support has been truly heartwarming. As we move into the holiday season, we have a few important reminders.
Illnesses are circulating, and our preschoolers, still building their immune systems, are naturally prone to sharing more than just toys as they learn how to cough, sneeze, and blow their noses appropriately. If your child has a fever, is vomiting, or has diarrhea, please ensure they are symptom-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
We also want to remind families to dress children appropriately for the weather; a few students have been arriving without jackets, hats and mittens. We go outside every day unless the “feels like” temperature drops below 25 degrees, so please make sure your child comes prepared for the cold.
Finally, a reminder about parking: as mentioned at orientation and in previous newsletters, parking is limited, and our “no parking” areas exist to ensure emergency vehicles can get through without hesitation. This week we witnessed the emergency vehicles has trouble getting through due to the parking. The side areas of James Street within our lot prevented these vehicles from passing through.
Please refer to the graphic below showing restricted areas. We encourage families to park on a nearby side street and walk up when possible. We understand the weather is getting colder and many of you have young children, but keeping these areas clear is essential for everyone’s safety. Thank you for your understanding and for working together to keep our parking lot safe.
